PlumbBrain is a next generation social community that goes beyond "starter social networks.”  With a much deeper purpose, this “social world” is a new learning community that helps kids survive their youth.  In a comprehen-sive approach to learning, socialization, character and content creation, PlumbBrain partners with kids to provide the unique tools and resources they need to thrive during the increasingly complicated process of growing up.

Today’s online advertising industry is rapidly expanding providing advertisers with an incredible variety of options. The effect is not unlike the boom in print publications in previous decades, selling advertising as the core of their business model.

OneSeventeen Media has developed a social advertising model characterized by intelligent selection of advertising messages that will deliver measurable results to advertisers; individualized guidelines for advertisers who wish to market safely to tweens and teens; intellectual property that can be leveraged outside of OneSeventeen Media properties; creation of ad catalogs for advertisers that are safe for tweens and teens; and a recognized rating system where kids give their own seal of approval. We call this approach Adaptive Creative Advertising.

In less than ten minutes, kids are provided cool insights into their strengths and talents. Understanding their strengths enables kids to improve their academic performance and offline relationships with parents, teachers and peers.

Acknowledging their unique strengths through the Hare, Owl, Turtle or Squirrel assessment, kids have the key to utilizing their strengths now and in the future.

The Young Minds Digital Times Film Competition is an innovative film competition for students around the world to showcase their work, compete against their peers and solve world issues through their eyes. Kids have lots to say, ideas to share, and talent to showcase, so we've created this competition as another way for students to learn out loud. We have a vested interest in students using their digital know how to promote social good, so while students have the chance to enter any film they create, they can also create a film specific to a non-profit group or social cause, allowing them to do more good for others with their talents and skills.

The PlumbBrain Radio Network gives kids an opportunity to create a content stream not found in any other social network or virtual world.  Our Youth Advisory Board has given this the double thumbs up and they’re excited to explore just how engaging “radio” can be.

Inspired Legacies’ Youth Giving Circle model teaches teens and tweens how to raise money and be able to give it away to non-profit groups that are working on issues young donors care about.  By forming a youth group and using the Youth Giving Circle guidelines, these kids will determine their priorities for making the world a better place, learn how to raise the money, interview different organizations, and then decide who will receive the money.  In other words, they will become young philanthropists!  Philanthropists don’t have to be old or rich. Teens and tweens can be part of the new wave of youth philanthropy.

Adaptive Learning Engine’s integrated design and technology enable a greater opportunity for youth immersed in PlumbBrain to reach their unique potential by delivering personalized content and experiences. (In other words it’s our secret sauce and Mary’s brainchild!) OneSeventeen Media values the unique qualities of our kids and sees Adaptive Learning as a key to developing PlumbBrain members as individuals in our social community.  By engaging the Adaptive Learning Engine, we’re able to reach out to tweens and teens with personalized, relevant content delivered in real time and on demand.
